One of the greatest aspects of being a photographer, and a fan of photography, is getting to know other photographers from all walks of life… throughout the world. Today, I’d like to give you a chance to get to know our good friend Alexandru Paraschiv from Galati Romania. We were able to get to know him through the art focused site known as Deviant Art, and further through the social media outlet, Facebook. Through the past year or so, it has been a pleasure in getting to know this great photographer. We truly look forward to the day when we can meet him face to face in his homeland, and share in some photographic adventures together.

Engagement Shoot in Downtown Detroit
We recently had the great pleasure of strolling around in Downtown Detroit for an engagement shoot for a lovely couple who are getting married on New Years Eve (which we will also be photographing.) Most people don’t think of city shots as a first choice for engagement shoots, but really, it depends on the couple, and I really think this couple were meant for it. They were such good sports, even though it was pretty cold out, and had a lot of fun posing for us and enjoying the stroll through iconic Detroit. It was a fun, exciting, and challenging adventure to be sure. Not only did we try to use the lighting and the activity of the city to really bring out the life of the photos, but we also used a little bit of time exposure as well. Below are some of our photos from the photoshoot, as well as their specs in case you want to know what we did for each photo. Please note, that a speedlight flash with a softbox was used for some of these shots, which really helped to counteract major shadows from the streetlights.
Detroit Zoo’s Butterflies
Hello everyone. Sorry it’s been a while since my last post on here. I’ve been super busy with upgrading our website, among many other things. (Like working on a Print store, so you can all enjoy our artwork in your own home!) Today, I’m going to post some of my recent pictures that I took at the Detroit Zoo’s Butterfly House. This gorgeous area of the zoo, is stuffed with beautiful exotic flowers and of course, butterflies. So, what does it take to capture a beautiful butterfly, you ask? Well, if you look under the pictures I’ve posted below, I’ve listed my camera settings for each shot. This will better help you to set up your own camera to get great pictures of butterflies in your area. Please note, that these were all taken when the sun was shining brightly through the glass ceiling. Now, onwards to the photos!
