If you’re wondering about a wonderful place to have your engagement photos taken, or a wonderful place to get married on Lake Michigan, then you need to look no further than Little Sable Point Lighthouse, on Lake Michigan. And, that’s exactly what we did just a couple of weeks ago, for this lovely couple.
Shuana and Paul are two love birds, who recently got engaged over the New Year holiday. They met at the gym, and work out together a lot. They both work together trying to help people get more in shape and into better health together too! We, however, met them at Shauna’s secondary job, Alex Kabob House. We’re a frequent set of customers there, and she’s almost always the waitress there. She always had a smile for us, and treated us kindly, but as we got to know the owners better of Alex Kabob House, we also got to know her better as well.
When she learned we were photographers, she started to follow our work. We were honored that she liked our work so much, and when she got engaged to Paul, she quickly reached out, wanting to secure us as her wedding and engagement photographers! We were thrilled! So, we met up with both of them, and quickly planned out a perfect day at the beach for their engagement session.
On the day of the engagement session, we all met up at The Lake House in Muskegon, Michigan for dinner. We had a great time sitting there, outside on their deck, enjoying the marina close by, and catching up with both of them. We ate our dinner with the sites and sounds of Lake Michigan literally at our feet, and it was the perfect way to break the ice on their engagement session! After dinner, we took the 40 minute drive to Little Sable Point Lighthouse.
Once we arrived, the first thing Jeff and I noticed, was that the water of Lake Michigan has risen, quite a lot this year, as almost 20-30 feet of the beach that used to be there, was now under water. That left us with about 4-5 feet of beach near the water to work with. We were a little sad of course, but we pressed on with the session.
Shauna and Paul were great to photograph! They were so giggly, and cheerful, and so in love with one another, that this was by far one of the easiest engagement sessions we’ve done! Shauna and Paul are such an adorable couple, that we couldn’t resist taking more of their pictures than we needed. And the results speak for themselves! Just look at how happy and in love these two are!
At the end of the session, Shauna, Paul, and Jeff all jumped into Lake Michigan for a special photo. Shauna’s poor dress was pretty destroyed by that point, but she didn’t mind, and we all laughed at how silly we all had been for the past hour or so. We went our separate ways from that point, and were excited to see the results from the session.

Lake Michigan is a great place for Engagement Photos, as is Little Sable Point Lighthouse, and we’re so glad you chose to trust us on this location!
