Hello everyone. Sorry it’s been a while since my last post on here. I’ve been super busy with upgrading our website, among many other things. (Like working on a Print store, so you can all enjoy our artwork in your own home!) Today, I’m going to post some of my recent pictures that I took at the Detroit Zoo’s Butterfly House. This gorgeous area of the zoo, is stuffed with beautiful exotic flowers and of course, butterflies. So, what does it take to capture a beautiful butterfly, you ask? Well, if you look under the pictures I’ve posted below, I’ve listed my camera settings for each shot. This will better help you to set up your own camera to get great pictures of butterflies in your area. Please note, that these were all taken when the sun was shining brightly through the glass ceiling. Now, onwards to the photos!

You may have noticed a similar setting for all of these shots. The aperture is set to f8. This setting allowed me to capture the butterflies in their entirety, getting their whole wings in focus, as well as their legs and antennas. What do you think about the above photos? Are there any settings you would change? Let us know if you tried similar settings and received similar or different results. And of course, as always, happy shooting!
