Once in a while we get the opportunity to share those precious moments in life, like this one. This young gal was about to celebrate her first birthday, and we were fortunate enough to be called upon to photograph her cake smash in anticipation of this young lady’s first birthday party.
These cake smash sessions can take place at a wide variety of locations, in this case, we met at Heritage Park in Farmington Hills, Michigan. We were excited at this notion, as we had never been to this park and as photographer/adventurers… We simply love seeing new places!
When we met up here, we knew we were in for a treat as this youngster was full of life and was just as sweet and sassy as she appears in these photos. For this photo-shoot, we were happy that the parents were so helpful in being able to get this one year old to smile and act natural in front of our cameras. When photographing children, there are no words to express just how helpful this is! The parents truly know what works for their child, much better than a photographer. As is the mantra for most of our clientele, we are just here to capture your moments. With this approach, the results really convey the happiness and joy of this momentous moment in the young life of this spirited child.
However, once the cake came out, all bets were off! The birthday girl needed very little help, and dug into her cake with rapt attentiveness and curiosity. It was such a joy to watch her smash and enjoy what looked like a truly delicious cake! As we would never steal cake from a baby, we were simply left to wonder on this…
We hope you enjoy these images. If you’ve got an event planned at any location, we’d love to show you what we can do for you!
