One of our more recent engagement photo shoots required a trip to Michigan’s beautiful capital, Lansing! This fun couple met us at their future wedding reception venue, in Old Town Lansing. So that’s where this post will start out…
We found the quaint surroundings in Old Town Lansing to be an ideal spot to start out, and gave our lovely couple a comfortable, familiar locale to explore as we captured them in an environment that helped them feel right at home. As photographers who always aim to make pictures that reflect the true nature of our clients, we feel that familiarity and comfortable surroundings can go a long way to helping this goal in many cases. We also enjoy the unique challenge of photographing in new locations, it keeps us on our toes!
From Old Town, we made our way to the park where these two will have their ceremony. It’s a beautiful small park, just South of Lansing in Holt called Veterans Memorial Gardens. While, not all couples choose to have their engagement photos at the same place they will be married, in this case we’re happy to have the experience! We will definitely know what to expect once the day of their wedding arrives.
We both really had a lot of fun spending time with this couple, it is obvious to us that they are truly in love. We were able to catch some truly beautiful, enjoyable moments, and one of our primary goals of getting to know them better was definitely met (this is why we offer complimentary engagement sessions to all of our wedding photography couples)! The value of this cannot be understated once the day of the wedding arrives and the work flow for us becomes much more fast paced. One of the best parts of our profession, is to get to know so many awesome people. Aside from the art, this is what we love most about being photographers!
